Saltash Art Fair
Saltash will have its own Art Fair on Saturday 3 May & Sunday 4 May- exhibiting over 200 paintings, prints, photographs & 3D work from local artists. All the pieces will be for sale. The exhibition is being organised by the Saltash Trust, a charitable trust set up last year by a group of Saltash people, with the aim of promoting Saltash’s Art, Culture & Heritage.
The organisers hope this will become an annual event, providing a much- needed local platform for local artists to exhibit & sell their work. The event will be open 10am – 4pm on both days, with the Mayor of Saltash officially opening it at 11am on Saturday.
Entry is free, & live music can be enjoyed for much of Saturday. Refreshments- including home-made cakes- will be available.
An added attraction is a copper- beating workshop on Saturday, with participants having a chance of producing design on a copper panel to a theme of “My Saltash”. The workshops are being led by artist-blacksmith Gary Thrussell, who is currently working on one of the sculptures for Saltash Art Trail.
Places on these workshops are limited, & anyone interested in taking part should contact Jo Baskott on 07730 937846.
The finished panels will form a frieze as part of the Art Trail.
